Bad Volcano!

We finally made it to Morocco! We left our house on Sunday at 9:00am for a flight to London (flying business class) and then from London to Madrid and from Madrid to Africa to the city of Casablanca.

We were strapped into our seats drinking champagne before the takeoff and the pilot came on and said that the flight had been cancelled, due to volcanic ash over London. So much for our plans.

We called United and were able to secure seats (unfortunately not in Business) on a 7pm flight to Frankfurt Germany. We figured somehow we would get from Frankfurt to Casablanca. We decided to stick around the airport and wait for the Lufthansa departure we had been booked on. We finally went to check-in and were informed by Lufthansa that United had not properly reconfirmed even though they had given us a record locator and ticket numbers. We were put on a wait list with the chances that we wouldn’t make the flight  - which was overbooked as is.

We then decided to not mess around with United - everyone at the airport heading for Europe via London was also scrambling at the same time as we were. We called American Express and bought 2 tickets to Casablanca via way of Paris. By the time we got on the plane we were exhausted. We didn’t have anything to eat or drink on the plane, we just strapped ourselves in, took a strong sleeping pill and we woke up in Paris!

After a 3 hour layover we were on a plane to Casablanca. Air France serves great food! We arrived in Casablanca very late at night and are ready for tomorrow!

  5. Hi

Funny that you are in Morocco and we are heading that way on Thursday via JFK nonstop to CMN. We're on a 2 week photo trip. Where else are you planning to visit in Morocco? Maybe we'll cross paths. Loved the Movie Poster. Happy trails.
